Registered Nurse

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for working with individuals to promote optimum mental health and address behavioral health and physical health issues of service population. Specifically, working with children, adolescents, adults or family groups to provide individualized treatment in dealing with addictions and substance abuse; family, parenting, and marital problems; suicide; stress management; problems with self-esteem; and issues associated with mental, emotional and physical health. The RN is responsible for serving as an Outpatient Registered Nurse and providing psychiatric nursing services in accordance with the Mental Health Rehabilitation Standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides professional services per Individualized Recovery Plans or Treatment Plans

  • Responsible for participating as a member of the clinic service team in treatment planning and implementation of the treatment plan

  • Works closely with the clinic psychiatrist in providing Medication/Somatic treatment services

  • Providing care which considers patients’ age-specific safety needs

  • Documenting evaluations of and interactions with patients, including medication and treatment administered

  • Provides crisis intervention to consumers, family members, and others as needed

  • Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement activities as required

  • Complete all documentation within the required time frame.

Qualifications

  • DC Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Master’s degree preferred

  • Two-three years of experience in the field

  • Experience providing services to an adult and/or child population with chronic mental illness

  • Experience in behavioral health care setting

  • Credible experience is a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
